Prince Andrew denies EVER having sex with Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia Roberts as he dismisses her description of night 'they met' because he was taking daughter Beatrice to a Pizza Express party.
The Duke of York (centre during the interview) faced questions on BBC Newsnight about his links to Epstein who was found dead aged 66 earlier this year in a prison cell while being held on sex trafficking charges. Andrew maintained he doesn't recall meeting Miss Roberts and didn't spend time with her at Tramp Nightclub in London on March 10 in 2001 after which she claims the pair first had sex. The duke denied he slept with Mrs Giuffre on three separate occasions, saying the encounter in 2001 did not happen as he had taken his daughter Princess Beatrice (pictured top-left in 2001) to Pizza Express in Woking (bottom-left) for a party, and they spent the rest of the day together.
A photograph apparently showing Andrew with his arm around then 17-year-old Roberts, now Giuffre, that evening and with Epstein's friend Ghislaine Maxwell standing in the background, has been widely published (top-right). Supporters of Andrew, however, have disputed its authenticity. The same alleged sexual liaison, which the American said began with the royal sweating heavily as they danced at London nightclub Tramp, was factually wrong as the duke said he had a medical condition at the time which meant he did not sweat. When asked by Emily Maitlis (inset) if he regretted the 'whole friendship with Epstein' (bottom-right together in 2011), the duke replied: 'Now, still not and the reason being is that the people that I met and the opportunities that I was given to learn either by him or because of him were actually very useful.'
